Museum of Perth Historian & Archivist Shannon Lovelady & Reece Harley, Executive Director

RAC Archives

A specialist archival team from the Museum of Perth, led by Archivist, Curator and Historian Shannon Lovelady, is working in partnership with the RAC to preserve, digitise and transcribe their fascinating Heritage Collection.

The Collection is comprised of historical materials including photographs from its establishment in 1905 through to today, VHS video tapes from the 1980s and 1990s, film from earlier eras, textiles, Membership Registers, Annual Reports, Board Minutes, and all manner of objects large and small, including myriad items of memorabilia.

Aside from documenting and processing, we will also be actively sourcing and collecting items relevant to the RAC to add to the Collection, while also digitising and transcribing select records (eg Minutes and Registers) for easier future access as well as digital preservation.
