Cooperative Bulk Handling (CBH) is a West Australian company of enormous significance to our State. Formed by a partnership between the Wheat Pool of WA and Wesfarmers Ltd in 1933, towards the end of the Great Depression, and a Royal Commission on the bulk handling of grain, they have become Australia’s largest cooperative and one of the country’s largest agricultural businesses.
CBH documented its long history with close to fifteen thousand photographs and slides, resulting in an extraordinary range of photographs on myriad media including glass plate negatives, large and small format slides, print photos and scrapbooks.
Museum of Perth has been engaged to digitise CBH’s Photographic Collection for preservation, ease of retrieval and future use.
