Here is an amazing aerial shot of the 24-acre, Marist College Campus, Churchlands, taken in around 1966.
Empire Avenue looks brand new, and the bush has given way to the playing fields, which were graded and planted during 1965, and the campus expanded to include the Science Laboratories, completed (to the right/south of main building) in 1966.
In 1966 the new campus sat amongst ancient Tuart trees, some of which are still standing; though today the bush to the east and west is now dense with homes!
Fascinating, isn’t it?
