See below for further details.
Digitising your photos, documents, letters and other personal records not only preserves the originals and protects against repeated future handling, but ensures there are then digital copies of the original, which leave the more vulnerable item handled less frequently. Copies can also then be sent anywhere instantly - making it easier to collaborate with others, and preserve these items.
All of your records are handled by staff trained in the archival care of these items, and scanned to the highest standards in both resolution and saved file format. Each piece is handled individually - no automated processes here!
We conduct an assessment of your Collection before beginning digitisation, in order to provide you with the best solution, to suit your budget. We then go over many storage options available, depending on your future needs.
In the past we have worked with:
Since 2015 we have worked with many local and national organisations, helping them to preserve their Collections for the digital age.
We can help you celebrate your history!
The Museum of Perth chronicles the social, cultural, political and architectural history of Perth. Since 2015 we have developed a range of partnerships with private individuals, commercial companies, government agencies, and not-for-profit organisations to deliver collaborative research projects, corporate histories, exhibitions, publications and websites.
Some of these have been:
Channel Nine Perth: 1965 to Now — Museum of Perth
This exhibition, hosted in our gallery, took visitors on a visual journey across the last five decades of Nine News, Perth. Our team selected a range of photographs, footage, original broadcast equipment, and stories, and curated a public exhibition launched with a formal, celebratory event.
Murray Street Heritage Buildings — Museum of Perth
Informational history panels wre installed in the vacant, ground floor tenancies at 132 Murray Street, Perth. Until a permanent use is found for this space, these panels provide colour, life, and historical interest to otherwise empty windows.
A J Baker & Sons: A Century of Business — Museum of Perth
A beautiful, full-colour, perfect-bound publication was written and produced to celebrate the centenary of venerable West Australian refrigeration and air-conditioning firm A J Baker & Sons. Next time you’re in the cold section of any supermarket, check to see if they’re A J Baker cabinets!
Moana Chambers Exhibition — Museum of Perth
The exhibition is able to be viewed in the foyer of the Moana Chambers Building during opening hours. Beautiful, historic display cases portray the strong impact Moana Chambers had on society and entertainment during Perth's phenomenal growth throughout the 20th century.
Perth Apartments: The Krantz Legacy Exhibit — Museum of Perth
This 2019-2020 exhibition was held in our Gallery and was coupled with a dedicated website detailing the life and extraordinary works of talented, future-thinking architect Harold Krantz.
With a large team of talented staff and volunteers who collaborate to ensure the best outcome, we have ongoing experience transcribing everything from 17th and 18th century indentures to WWI diaries and 1930s films. Documents are first digitised to reduce handling of the original, and then transcribed by our team.
Completed transcriptions are easier to read and also fully searchable as digital assets - which makes them invaluable to researchers and historians. Many of our major projects began as simple transcriptions and were turned into exhibitions, featured television, social media and newspaper articles, a comprehensive website, and printed publications such as Herbert Turner: A Signaller’s Story.
In recent years we have transcribed:
