Matt has a background in design for film and television, and has been Production Designer on web series, television commercials, music videos and feature films including 2017’s award winning ‘Top Knot Detective’ and the music video for Seth Sentry’s ‘Hellboy’.
He came to us as a work-for-the-dole participant in 2019, and quickly found several projects in which to involved and, within a couple of weeks, proved very capable of leading a team. He gathered a group of other participants and led their painstaking transcription of Herbert Turner’s WWI diaries, during which it became obvious to Matt it needed to be a book. From that time he has led the production of A Signaller’s Story, the result of transcribing those diaries. The book is to be published, along with an exhibition of the same name, a few days before Anzac Day 2021.
In the 18 months since Matt’s work-for-the-dole phase ended, he has continued as a volunteer, even throughout COVID, working on A Signaller’s Story and with Shannon Lovelady, on the design of her history of A J Baker & Sons, written for their 2020 centenary.
Being a Jack-of-all-trades, there’s very little Matt can’t build or create, and he is usually only restricted by time or budget!
