Debra Watkins

staff directory

Debra commenced work with the Museum of Perth in May 2021 as a volunteer and quickly applied her 25 years of UK genealogy experience to research tasks.

She has written three family history publications including "Preston Origins" and has two online blogs "A Pocket Full of Family Memories" and "Relics of Beccles". She also volunteered at the Western Australian Genealogy Society (WAGS) as a library assistant.

Most recently Debra has been digitising the photographic collection for Cooperative Bulk Handling (CBH). As a past employee of CBH (her mother worked for the company for 23 years as well), Debra has been well-placed to identify portrait subjects, and to piece together photographic timelines and subject categories.

Debra is now working on the RAC heritage collection as a Digital Archives Assistant; part of a small team working to progress the RAC’s Archives and Heritage Collection.
